Lego® therapy is a social development program for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other social communication difficulties. It uses children's love of playing with Lego® to help them develop communication and social skills.
We provide licensed Lego therapy and hold regular training courses across the North West in places such as Manchester, Wigan, Blackpool, Chester, and liverpool.
This training suitable for teachers, teaching assistants, psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, play therapists, counsellors, education specialists or other professionals who work with young people struggling with social communication.
This course can be tailored and adapted to be specific to your type of setting, from nursery, primary school, secondary school and special school to other settings too. This course is designed to fulfil 3 hours of training time but can be adapted or changed to meet your setting’s needs. This course will give all the delegates a good understanding of the basics of autism.
The Ofsted framework (2019) plans to assess schools more on the quality of the education and how it meets learning needs, moving away from an over reliance on data.
This is further supported by the DFE (2018) who declare that all teachers need to have the tools necessary to teach children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). Teachers need to have a ‘basic’ understanding of autism. This training can be be delivered and schools can be supported by NW Autism & SEND.
